Fundació off to Mexico

A Barca delegation headed by President Joan Laporta set off today for Mexico where on Monday, accompanied by Rafa Marquez, they will officially open a XICS centre, before moving on to Equador where they will open another on Tuesday.


The Barca delegation, led by Joan Laporta and accompanied by Fundació FC Barcelona Director General Marta Segú, flew out to Mexico to officially open two XICS centres together with the Fundació Rafa Márquez, Fútbol and Corazón.

Màximum representation from the club

Club President Joan Laporta and Mexico captain Rafa Márquez,will be at the opening ofteh two centres and Sr Laporta commented: “the Fundació is one of the most important pillars of FCBarcelona and therefore requires the maximum representation of the club”.

041009_marta_aeroport.jpgMarta Segú stressed: “for us it's really important that the first team players are involved in this kind of soldarity work. Rafa Marquez is a clear example with the agreement between his foundationand the club's Fundació.

After the official inauguration of the two centres in Mexico -at El Salto and Tonalá, the Barc party will travel to Ecuador on Tuesday to open three more XICS centres, which will bring the total number of XICS centres to 12, distributed inCatalonia, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Burkini Faso, Malawi, India,Brazil, Mexico and Ecuador.

New centres up and running
Although the official opening for the centre is set for this week, all three have actually been functioning foer some time -the international break has opened up an opportunity for club officials to visit this week.
