Alberto Borregán's ninth European win

Sònia de Alba

Barca Sorli Discau captain Alberto Borregan lifted his 9th title European Cup as a Barca player with this afternoon’s win over Vic.

The 19th European title for the club was also the 32-year-old Borregan’s ninth, making him one of the club’s most prolific players.

Barca through and through

Borregan came up through the club’s youth teams and has been a key figure in the club’s second golden age of roller hockey (the first being in the 70s under coach Josep Llorente). A creative attacking player, Borregan has learnt how to adapt his enormous quality for the good of the team and after making his debut at the age of 17 he has picked up a total of 51 titles in his 16 years as a professional at the club, with this season’s OK Lliga on the horizon as number 52.
