First step to the title (5-0)

Barça Sorli Discau took the first step towards winning the OK Liga as they defeated Coinasa Liceo comfortably in the first of the best of five final as Panadero netted twice in the Palau Blaugrana.

Quim Paüls' side were keen to make a strong start to the series and they used home advantage to send out a message that they can be considered to be the favourites to win the trophy as they kept a clean sheet at one end and found the route to goal on a regular basis at the other.

Strong start

The home team started well and it only took them two minutes to make the breakthrough as David Páez sent the ball past Llaverola in the Coinasa goal moments after Panadero had struck the post with a shot.

In minute four, Panadero made up for his misfortune as he added Barça second and the Blaugrana were in command on the court and on the scoreboard.

Moving forward

Ordeig then saw his penalty effort saved by the keeper and Reinaldo García and Jordi Bargalló combined well as the visitors sought to pull themselves back into proceedings by launching forward movements of their own.

Just before half-time

Shortly before the break, Barça put the game almost beyond reach as they netted a third goal tat came as Carlos López won possession and then beat Llaverola with an impressive effort.

Intense second half

Egurrola held strong at the back for FC Barcelona as he prevented the away team from denting his team's confidence and that helped ensure that the outfield players could relax and play hockey the way that the know how.

The hosts' keeper earned himself some plaudits eight minutes into the second half when he saved a penalty from Reinaldo García.

Two more

Having had to chase the ball and the game, Coinasa Liceo suffered from tiredness in the closing minutes and Panadero was able to take advantage of that as he scored on the break.

Within 40 seconds a fifth had gone past Llaverola as Teixido netted and the visitors were already looking to the second game to try and salvage something.
