Barça comeback for impressive win (5-2)

Barça Sorli Discau mounted an outstanding second half comeback to register an emphatic victory against Cemex Tenerife after going a goal behind.

The visitors sat back and played on the counter-attack like they did when the two teams first met and that system worked well early on as Jordi Ferrer made the break through as he netted the opening goal by beating Aito Egurrola in the 13th minute.

Tenerife’s goal meant that Quimo Paüls’ team had to bounce back and they set about their task well, but were frustated time and again until a minute before the break when Sergi Panadero levelled matters and the turnaround in the game began.

Teixidó brace

The second half began in much the same way as the first had finished with the Blaugrana moving forward at pace and this time the pressure paid off as the hosts took the lead just two minutes after the restart when Lluís Teixidó produced a fine finish.

After taking the lead, Barça were then able to play their game and within a minute they had a two-goal cushion Teixidó added this second and the third for the host on the night.

Ordeig injured

There was one bad note for the Blaugrana as Mia Ordeig picke up a knock and after receiving treatment on the court in the Palacio, he was taken off for treatment and tests on the injury.

Páez double

Despite that set back, there was no stopping the home team and David Páez beat Nicoletti to put Barça 4-1 ahead and he was on hand to add a fifth towards the end after Alen had reduced the arrears for Tenerife.

The win ensured that Paüls’ team stayed on top of the OK Liga with 21 matches of the season played.
