FC Barcelona have been awarded the right to host the final four of the European League at teh Palau Blaugrana on May 10 and 11 by the Comité Europén de Rink-Hockey (CERH), provided the host team qualify.

The Blaugrana club have held the competition once before and now have to wait and see if the team can qualify before all the final preparations for the highly prestigious event can be signed and organised.

One win to qualify

FC Barcelona Sorli Discau have two remaining games in Group A of the European League in order to progress, but the crucial encounter for Quimo Paüls' side will be against Italian outfit Follonica in the Palau on February 16. A win in that match would mathematically seal the team's place in the Final Four.

Previous win

If Barça do host the competition, then it will bring back memories of some of the greatest roller hockey moments the club has seen. During the 1996/97 season, CERH decided to change the previous format, with home and away games, and introduce the Final Four. The Palau was the venue for that first year and Barça went on to win the trophy, beating Porto 4-3 in extra time.
