Tomás shines in Europe (35-28)

Verònica Díez

Víctor Tomás was the hero for FC Barcelona Borges as he scored eight goals in a decisive victory over Vardar Skopje in the last Champions League encounter for 2009.

The win took the Catalan outfit into second place in Group G and cemented their chances of making it through to the next phase when the competition resumes in February.

The second half was a different story though as Iker Romero stood out at one end while Tomás showed his prowess in front of goal to steer the hosts to a seven-point winning margin.
