Vinicius maintains Barça duck (4-3)

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The futsal team came close to getting their first ever points at the Palacio de los Deportes in Múrcia, but were downed by a last minute goal for defending champions El Pozo. A Vinicius hat trick proved vital.

That’s 16 defeats in 16 visits for Barça, and once again their nemesis was Brazil’s Vinicius, who was on target three times. Barça didn’t deserve that fate, and some would argue that they came off much the worse when it came to refereeing decisions.

Barça in the lead

pozo_-_fcb3.jpgCaptain Javi Rodríguez opened the scoring after 7 minutes following a grand individual run. They defended their lead well, but the match official deemed an extraordinary amount of their tackles to be unlawful. Vinicius eventually scored from a double penalty, but Ari Santos concerted a penalty a minute later to put the Catalans back in command.

But Vinicius was not finished yet, and made it 2-2 just before the break, and just after Ari Santos had hit the post.

Murcians go ahead

pozo_-_fcb4.jpgAfter the break, Álvaro was on the far post to meet a cross from ex Marfil player Dani Salgado to put El Pozo ahead for the first time. There was still time though, although home keeper Rafa was having an outstanding match.

Marc Carmona opted to use a rush goalie in the closing minutes. That’s always a risky decision, but this time it paid off, and a long range effort from Torras found the target and things were all square again.

But it was Vinicius, and yet another double penalty, that tipped the final balance. The Brazilian scored and things ended in yet another defeat for FCB at El Pozo.
