Barça Atlètic took a big step towards promotion by beating Real Jaen 3-0 in the second leg of their playoff game to go through to the third round of the play offs.

A goal from Thiago Alcàntara on 18 minutes and two second half strikes from Jonathan Soriano gave Luis Enrique’s team the win in a game they dominated with their attacking possession football. The team now move onto the third phase of the promotion playoffs.

Possession

Barca put in plenty of effort and concentration to keep possession and create a total of nine chances to Jaen’s four in front of a packed Mini Estadi who backed the team all the way.

Thiago and Soriano on target

2010-06-05_PARTIDO_13.JPGMidfielder Thiago Alcàntara opened the scoring on 18 minutes and after the break Soriano scored a great individual goal to make it two. The two goal scorers combined two minutes later for Soriano to make it three and take his tally for the season to 21.

If Soriano is one of the oldest players in the team – he’s 24- Sergi Gomez, who’s been promoted from the youth team is one of the youngest at 17 and he again repaid the confidence Luis Enrique has been showing in him with another good performance.

Rivals revealed on Monday

The team will discover on Monday who they will face in next weekend’s final phase of the play offs.
