Six games unbeatten (2-1)

Edgar Fornós

Barça Atlètic has beaten Alzira by two goals to one at the Miniestadi. Luis Enrique’s men now have five wins this season and are looking to climb up the table.

Barça Atlètic has picked up three more points against Alzira. Pedro put the Catalans ahead with a great strike from outside the box before Cristian equalised with a header in the 55th minute. Finally Rochina scored the winner, his first goal for Barça Atlètic.

Lots of chances

Barça Atlètic dominated the first half and created lots of chances. The best before the first goal fell to Víctor Vázquez who picked up a loose ball in the area before firing in a shot which Alzira’s keeper did well to keep out. Five minutes before the break Pedro put the home side ahead with a piledriver from the edge of the box.

Looking for a winner

After the break the Valencia outfit came out determined to turn the game around, and in the 55th minute Cristian brought them level with a header. But Luis Enrique’s side kept looking for the winner and, after Paco saved well from Víctor Vázquez, Rochina headed home from a Thiago free-kick to notch Barça’s second with just seven minutes left on the clock.

The win against Alzira at the Miniestadi extends Barça Atlètic’s unbeaten run to six games. Today’s match was the side’s fifth win of the season.
