‘'The heart of Barça', in the bookshops

The FC Barcelona Foundation has published a book of photographs of people benefiting from its XICS centres, the work of reporter David Dusster and photographer Kim Manresa.

'The heart of Barça' is the title of the first ever book published by the FC Barcelona Foundation. It hits the stores this April and shows pictures of the good work going on at the XICS (International Network of Solidarity Centres) centres promoted by the Foundation.

On sale from April 30

foto_fundacio_fcb.jpg'The heart of Barça', goes on sale on April 30, and costs 32 euros. The 187 pages explain what the project is all about, and how 10,000 people have benefitted from it over the last five years. “We want people to know about our programmes and show the impact they are having on vulnerable children around the world”, said Marta Segú, the general manageress of the Foundation. Two versions of the book will be published, one with the texts in Catalan and English and the other in Spanish and French.

A book about overcoming challenges

The text was written by reporter David Dusster and the pictures are the work of photojournalist Kim Manresa. They have spent a year visiting each of the different XICS centres. Manresa says it is a great example of how much a little help can do to benefit so many children. "It is a book about overcoming challenges” he says. “We want to show that there football is not the only thing that matters", adds Dusster.
