Barça promote 1Goal campaign

FC Barcelona showed support during the game against Deportivo de La Coruña for the 1Goal: Education For All campaign that aims to end poverty by providing education for 72 million out of school children.


In February club president Joan Laporta announced Barça's commitment to the initiative during a presentation alongside Queen Rania of Jordan.

In a bid to encourage members and supporters to collaborate with the effort video messages explaining what 1Goal stands for were shown before the game against Depor on Wednesday evening and at half-time. Everyone can learn more about the campaign at the official website , www.join1goal.org .

Education for all by 2015

1Goal: Education For All forms part of the Global Campaign for Education and is represented in Spain by Education Without Borders, Ayuda en Acción and Entreculturas that is aiming to bring education to children around the world. In 2000 many governments signed up along with representatives of several international organisations to bring an Education for All by 2015 at a summit in Dakar, Senegal.

Current and former FC Barcelona stars have also leant their support to the 1Goal: Education For All campaign with Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Gary Lineker, to name a few. between April 19 and 25 schools, education centres and member of the public in 100 countries will be able to help in raising awareness of the project.
