Completing the final details

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The work to restructure the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper is into the final phase. The workers are currently hard at it to get things ready for the imminent arrival of the first team.

The moment when the first team move to the Ciudad Deportiva is getting closer and closer. The work that began last September involving the resurfacing of Pitch 1 is almost complete.

Press area complete

sala_premsa_03.jpgAs according to schedule, the new press area is ready for use. It covers a surface area of 300 square metres and can seat up to 100 journalists and has all of the media required so that newspaper writers as well as radio and television broadcasters can work in optimum conditions. The new area also has three separate rooms in which personal interviews can be given.

New home for Barça Atlètic

Barça Atlètic have already moved to the new building that has been built alongside pitches 8 and 9 at the Ciudad Deportiva. Luis Enrique’s players have already settled into the new dressing rooms and the coaches also have their own areas. The new Barça Atlètic building is 1,100 square metres and has a gym, dining room and different rooms in which physiotherapists, doctors and material staff can work. The fact that the reserve team has moved home means that the facilities they used previously will now be dedicated entirely to first team use.

Changes for first team

vestuari_1_equip_8.jpgThe constructors are now putting the finishing touches to the building annexed to pitch 1, which will be the first team’s new work centre. The dressing room area has already been fitted, for example, with lockers for individual use by the players. The gymnasium is being modernised and certain adaptations are also being made to what will be the offices used by Josep Guardiola and the rest of the first team coaching staff.

The new furniture is also being transported to the facilities. When the final details have been put into place, it will be Guardiola himself who decides exactly when the first team definitively moves its permanent base to the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper.
