Three new directors and changes in the Board

At the Board of Directors meeting this Monday it was decided to bring in three new directors: Josep Anton Colomer, Jordi Torrent and Maria Helena Fort. Changes have also been made in some departments.


Following article 30 in the Clubs bylaws, and at the suggestion of the chairman, three new directors have been appointed. They are Jordi Torrent Sala, who joins the marketing and media department; Josep Anton Colomer Guiu, who comes into the finance section; and Maria Helena Fort Cisneros, who will be in the institutional and assets department.

“These appointments are subject to the approval of the next General Assembly of Delegates,” pointed out club chairman Joan Laporta. He added that the date of the Assembly will not be settled until the draw for the qualifying rounds of the Champions League is held on Friday 1 August. However, he hinted that it might be at the end of August.

rplaporta2907_x4x.JPGThe three new members of the Board of FC Barcelona have long professional track records. Josep Anton Colomer Guiu, member number 15,459, has a Diploma in Cooperative Company Management from IESE, in Marketing from ESADE and in Leadership and Innovation from IESE. His professional career has been spent in the BBVA Group.

Jordi Torrent Sala, member number 6,440, is a businessman and currently CEO at Iluminación Disano, SA. Finally, Maria Helena Fort Cisnero, member number 13,635 and aged 37, is a lawyer and expert in administrative and town planning law. She has worked on the club’s Social Commission.

Restructuring the Board

The Board has also agreed on a restructuring of the responsibilities of some of its members. Rafael Yuste has been appointed new sports vice-chairman. Joan Boix will be the new vice-chairman for finance and keeps his post as treasurer. Joan Franquesa becomes the new institutional and assets vice-chairman while Jacint Borràs has been appointed the new chairman of Barça Atlètic.

After these changes the Board is as follows:

- Alfons Godall, Deputy Chairman, head of the social department and spokesperson
- Rafael Yuste, Sports Vice-Chairman
- Joan Boix, Finance and Treasury Vice-Chairman
- Jaume Ferrer, Marketing and Media Vice-Chairman
- Joan Franquesa, Institutional and Assets Vice-Chairman
- Josep Cubells, secretary
- Jacint Borràs, director and Chairman of Barça Atlètic
- Albert Perrín, director in charge of relations with international sports federations and bodies
- Alfons Castro, director in charge of security
- Maria Helena Fort, director Institutional and Assets Department
- Josep Anton Colomer, director Finance Department
- Jordi Torrent, director Marketing and Media Department
Three new directors and changes in the Board
Magda Oranich, new Members’ Ombudsman
In addition to the three new directors, the Board has also appointed a new Ombudsman. Magda Oranich y Solagran replaces Carles Pí-Sunyer, who has been in the post for five years.

Magda Oranich, member number 24,132, has a degree in Law. As a member she took part in the 21st Century Commission tasked with revising the club’s bylaws in the 2000/01 season. This appointment is also subject to approval by the forthcoming General Assembly.
