Joan Laporta's father passes away

Joan Laporta Bonastre, the father of the FC Barcelona president and club member number 975, has died aged 75 at midday on Tuesday in the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona.
Upon hearing the news, the board meeting that was due to be held at Camp Nou was suspended. The press conference to outline the club's economic standing during the 2006/07 season, scheduled for Wednesday, has also been suspended. Over the next few days the club will announce new dates for both to be held.
The board of directors has chosen to suspend all club activities in which president Joan Laporta was due to be involved and have agreed that all the flags throughout the club's facilities be flown at half-mast.
