Regal Barça’s intelligent approach to the game in Istanbul led to a convincing win for Xavi Pascual’s men. After the game, the coach congratulated the players on their implication and for providing such a convincing response.

The basketball team took a serious approach to their opening Euroleague fixture, and came away with a convincing win. Here are some of the comments made after a game that ended 59-82.

Xavi Pascual, coach of Regal FC Barcelona

"I am very happy for Pete Mickeal, he had a very complete game. He always prepares well and his work rate was great today."

Pete Mickeal

"I think it was important to start with a road win in the Euroleague. If you look at the Fenerbahçe roster they have some good player, some ex NBA, and lots of talent."

"My motivation today was to defend well and stop Giricek, who creates lots of options. That was the objective."

"The whole team defended well and we moved the ball around well in offence."

Terence Morris

"We played very well. Sometimes we let the opposition get some easy scores but in general were did well in offence and defence."

"The balance was good and all my team mates had good games."

182 games for Basile
Gianluca Basile has made it to 182 games in the Euroleague. Before facing Fenerbahçe, the Italian was already the player with the most appearances. Baso, in 23 minutes on court, scored 4 points. It was not the best game he has ever had but he did display his constant and undebatable dedication to the team.
