Regal Barça pick up second Super Cup (86-82)

Sònia de Alba

Regal FC Barcelona conquered their second ACB Super Cup with a thrilling 86-82 win over Real Madrid. It was a great display from Xavi Pascual's team who showed great fight and skill, even if there were plenty of typical pre-season slip ups on show.

Regal Barca won over the Centro Insular de Deportes with Navarro, voted MVP, leading his team to a famous win over their eternal rivals.
Navarro gets 14 points in 10 minutes

Madrid fought back in the second quarter with their five new summer signings all on display and before three three pointers from Navarro gave Barca a 29-27 lead, Velickovic had put Madrid in front for the first time in the game(21-22).

Benches get plenty of time

Neither side was fully able to impose themselves, though Barca, with Pascual using his bench as much as possible, opened up an 8 point 38-30 lead thanks to some good play from Ricky and Morris. Prigioni hit back with a six point flurry to make it 42-46 and although Barca came back, Madrid led 46.49 at the break.

Prigioni lifts Madrid, but Navarro hits back

Navarro had only added two points to his total, but now he turned the match around with just four minutes left, scoring six points to make it 80-78. Llull drew Madrid level at 80-80, but in a tense final few moments it was Barc who held firm to win and take the title 86-82.
