Ricky Rubio’s first year

Ricky Rubio completed his first season as a Regal FC Barcelona player with a great record as he helped the team win four trophies while receiving individual awards.

Joining from DKV Joventut last year, the youngster stated that he was keen to test himself with a club that would compete in Europe and had the chance to win every competition in which they played. Having chosen Barça Rubio announced: “I am proud that I did not go to the NBA.”

Early awards

At the end of September Rubio clinched his first award as he was proclaimed the Liga Catalana MVP with eight points and five assists during the 38-62 win against Joventut.

A week later he helped the team to the second pre-season trophy as the ACB Super Cup was clinched with a win against Real Madrid.

Euro star

In the Euroleague Rubio managed ten assists in a game against Montepaschi in the Palau Blaugrana while in the semi-final he recorded ten point and eight assists against CSKA and a further nine points in the final against Olympiacos.
