Morandais, another forward

Morandais is AXA Barça's latest recruit. He has signed for three months, although Barça have the option of keeping him all season. The ex Napoli star is coming to the club, in theory, just to provide cover until Acker gets medical clearance to play.

Whether he stays longer than the initial three-month period depends both on the evolution of Acker’s injury and on the way he performs in Dusko Ivanovic’s side. Barça have the contractual rights to keep the player on for longer if they so wish.

Great against Barça

2005/06 was an excellent first season for the small forward or shooting guard in Naples, where he played an important role in his team’s Cup win, and qualification for the 2006/07 Euroleague.

It was in that competition that he played his best game ever for Eldo Napoli, and that was against none other than Winterthur Barça on January 11, where he scored 23 points and 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. He also delighted against Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe two weeks later. That day, Morandais was evaluated with a score of 32, thanks to 16 rebounds and 17 points in 37 minutes.
