Goals and debuts in Denmark (0-3)

FC Barcelona recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory against AGF Aarhus in their first pre-season friendly. Eidur Gudjohnsen made his debut for the club in a game that saw Giovani Dos Santos shine.

The European champions are back in action and they kicked off the new campaign with a win. Frank Rijkaard chose to give many youngsters a run-out in the encounter in the Denmark. Alongside Gudjohnsen in making their first appearances for the first team were Marc Crosas, Lluís Sastre, Giovani Dos Santos and Lorenzo Riera. The goals came from Dos Santos, Ezquerro and an own goal by Andreas Schultz. Samuel Eto'o, Juliano Belletti, Víctor Valdés and Edmílson all remained on the bench.

Dos Santos opens the scoring

The first half was dominated by the Blaugrana and deservedly took the lead when Dos Santos opened the scoring with a fine goal. The Mexican forward skipped past two defenders on the right of the penalty area before lashing the ball past Morten Rasmussen and into the far corner of the net from an acute angle.

Eight minutes before half-time, Barça doubled their advantage with a touch of fortune. Ezquerro aimed a shot goalwards and watched as it clipped of his marker's ankle and looped over the goalkeeper and into the net.

Gudjohnsen's debut

At the start of the second period Gudjohnsen entered the fray for his first appearance in a Barcelona shirt as he replaced Ezquerro and played as the lone striker. Rijkaard also introduced Ruben, Sylvinho, Thiago Motta and Ludovic Giuly. Only 15 minutes after coming on, Gudjohnsen created the third goal as he stepped away from a defender and aim a shot which Rasmussen saved, only for the ball to rebound off Schultz and back into the goal. The game was truly over as a contest and allowed Barça to relax.

Jorquera and Crosas realise dream

Another big moment came as Albert Jorquera and Marc Crosas started the game together. The two cousins had explained to www.fcbarcelona.com beforehand how they dreamed of finally appearing in the same side and in Aarhus it came true. After spending the last five days together in the squad, the duo finally made a small piece of history as they were named in the line-up for the game. The relatives hugged each other as they left the pitch at the end of the first half.

Quartet given a rest

Rijkaard opted to rest Valdés, Belletti, Edmílson and Eto'o for the game. The Cameroon striker only returned to training on Monday after an extended break and has been working on his physical fitness with Albert Roca. The club's medical team decided that Edmílson should not play as a precaution after picking up a knock in trainin earlier in the week.
