Location: El Carmel, Barcelona, Catalonia
Direct beneficiaries: 80 young people between the ages of 10 and 16 years of age,
and 30 families.
Indirect beneficiaries: 470
In 2004, 8.7% of the population of the district of Horta-Guinardó is foreign and 11% of the population are under 17 years of age.
71% of male ESO secondary school students take part in sport. The figure for female students is 39%.
XICS Carmel and its surroundings
The project was presented officially on the 18th of May 2010 at the IES Ferran Tallada sports
grounds.
The centre offers since the end of 2010 extra academic classes, sports activities, workshops,
it classes, professional and social training, psychological support and family guidance.
