XICS Brazil (Taquaritinga)

• Location and context
  Taquaritinga is a town within the state of São Paulo (Brazil). With 60 million inhabitants, São Paulo bases its economy on agriculture mainly in the harvesting of oranges and sugar cane.

• Beneficiaries The beneficiaries are more than 300 children and adolescents between 6 and 18 years with risk of social exclusion, who have left school or are victims of school absenteeism and are often sent out to work very young. Many of them come from dysfunctional families, in which the child's social and intellectual development is not promoted.

• Activities and results
  The following lessons were carried out: reading, writing, theatre, computers, music as well as recreational activities of judo, ballet and hip-hop. Sports such as football, athletics, volleyball and basketball were also practiced.
