During his speech, Mr Lee remarked on the great run of form that FC Barcelona have enjoyed over the past few seasons. The promise of the current board to continue to maintain and improve the club and increase their presence in the world was also reiterated. Mr Lee also outlined the effort made by the club to help supporters’ clubs such as the Supporters Clubs' Congress on the same day as the Trofeu Joan Gamper game, the outstanding organisation of the XXXIII Trobada Mundial, the opening of the FCB Supporter Services Office, and also the first steps of projecte Penyes Segle XXI so as to put supporters’ clubs at the level they deserve.

Mayoress Padilla admitted not being a great football fan, despite considering herself a follower of FC Barcelona. She highlighted in her speech the values the club transmits through its work, effort, humility and honesty. On a local level she also focussed on the work done to bring the community together and the importance that the club has within it.
