FC Barcelona Sorli Discau beat Reus again despite both Garcia and Gual out through suspension. Barça created many chances in the game, where David Paez proved the player of the game with two goals.

Tuesday’s game would have been difficult to better. Despite Quim Pauls playing his favoured team and bringing the teams level in the second half, Reus were unable to gain the upper hand in a game which saw Barça control the game well.

The first 10 minutes of the game showed Reus to be a different team to that of last Tuesday. They played cautiously, closing up in defence and playing the counterattack.

Five minutes before the break, Reus had a golden opportunity to put themselves ahead; a direct free hit somehow did not find its way into the net. Barça survived and 3 minutes later, David Paez, a key player in the play offs, scored to put the blaugrana ahead.

The second half started strong, Paez again coming close; slamming a shot against the post to the right of goalkeeper Guillem Trabal. Two minutes later, his brother doubled the advantage to calm the game a little. However, Reus capitalised on this drop in intensity and piled on the pressure in their plight to win the OK Liga. Their pressure paid off as Guillem Cabestany scored twice, the first a penalty and the second following a fast counterattack.

Barça were far from finished though as Mia Ordeig and Borregan showed their class and experience in bringing, what was proving a difficult encounter, back under control and restoring Barça’s 2 goal advantage. Barça hope to put an end to the Liga competition when they face Reus in the third game on Sunday at 17:00.
