Comfortable win (5-2)

Although lacking their usual spark, Barça Alusport still managed to comfortably see off

Marc Carmona had warned that his team always found it hard to come back from a defeat and the team certainly started slowly finding it hard to get any rhythm into their game against a Caja Segovia team who themselves renounced their expected style of pressurising the Barça team as they came out of defence. The visitors were also missing Lozano and their Argentinean star Matías only lasted for six minutes, but it was still the visitors who looked the most threatening early on with Paco Sedano to thank for keeping the scores level.

Goal finally arrives

After 11 minutes though, a Javi Rodríguez header rattled the woodwork and then
Saad and Torras both tested Cidao from distance before Fernandão, back in the team for this game, opened the scoring at the far post from a Torras centre shoot.

The goal lifted the team and the fans and Cidao just stopped the second from coming with a save at Wilde’s feet. Chances were coming now, but just as the team seemed to be about to convert pressure into goals, the half time buzzer went.

Better second half

Wilde set the tone for the second half with a goal from a corner after just 25 seconds and although Daniel and Matías both tried individual efforts for the visitors, Barça were on top now. Saad, Wilde and Javi Rodríguez all came close, but it was Carlos who made it three, shooting between the legs of Cidao after a quick corner. Then came the best move of the game as Saad, Fernandåo, Carlos and Lin combined with some lovely one touch football, only for Tobe to clear off the line. The fourth soon came though, as Lin took advantage of poor positioning from Cidao.

With the game wrapped up, Segovia hit back with two quick strikes but keeper Paco Sedano rounded off a satisfactory performance with the fifth to guarantee the points.
