It was a fast start to the game, with Rafa Usin opening the scoring for the visitors before Fernandão and Ari Santos gave Barça the lead. Javi Eseverri then scored from a penalty to make it 2-2 after just 8 minutes. The game then settled down to some nervous midfield play, with few more chances before the break.

Great Saad strike

Barça sparked the game to life again in the second half, with Saad scoring one of the goals of the season as he volleyed home the hosts’ third and then Fernandão nearly made it four as Alusport took control.

Now Barça sat back and defended well, though in truth the Pamplona team had a few chances, but it was the hosts who got the goal, a rather fortunate strike from Jordi Torras.

Victory and lap of honour with the cup

As the game wound down, it was Barça Alusport who got the chances and Torras, on two occasions and Saad, who hit a great shot against the bar, both came close as the team ran out winners to go 2-0 up in the series and book their semi final spot.

Finally, the team did a lap of honour with the recently won Spanish Cup and they must now play either. Manacor or Lobelle in the semis, as they push on for another title.
