Barça Mobicat has achieved an important win at the Palau to move, temporarily at least, into third spot in the League. Marc Carmona’s men are getting closer to the places that give access to the Cup.

This Saturday the Palau Blaugrana was the venue for goals galore as Barça Mobicat won in front of a crowd containing Barça Borges coach Manolo Cadenas.

Manacor had the best of the opening exchanges as Miguelín rattled the home side’s crossbar. But that was the alarm call for Marc Carmona’s men.

Fernandao gets things going

In the 4th minute the team’s top goalscorer, Fernandao, got the first goal. A mistake by Manacor let Fernandao in and he drove an unstoppable shot past goalie Bortolotto.

Igor’s back

The Manacor match marked the return of Igor to the team. He came on in the 14th minute after being out injured for three months.

Beto key for Manacor

Barça Mobicat dominated much of the first half and were technically and physically superior, but Manacor also had their chances. Beto, one of the key figures in the visitors’ attack, had a great chance with just two minutes to go in the half but Paco Sedano blocked his shot.

Woodwork

After the break Barça Mobicat came out determined to finish off the game. First Javi Rodríguez had a chance to be followed by Saad, who hit the post in the 22nd minute. A minute later, a drive by Fernandao again hit the Manacor woodwork.

3 – 0 in two minutes

Javi Rodríguez made it 2 – 0 in the 25th minute, slotting home into an empty goal after a team move. A minute later Chico made it 3 - 0 after a great assist from Fernandao.

Yet Manacor didn’t throw in the towel and had chances but they were saved by Paco Sedano. However, in the 29th minute the visitors got one back through Paulinho.

Fernandao top goalscorer

After Gréllo, Beto and Manacor manager ‘Pato’ Mena had been sent off, Barça made it 4 – 1, with Fernandao scoring from outside the area in the 36th minute. His two strikes against Manacor mean Fernandao is now the League’s top goalscorer with 15.

Javi Rodríguez then added the fifth and his second in the 39th minute.
