Little reward (2-2)

Despite dominating the game, Barça Mobicat won just one point from Peinsa Cartagena. Jordi Sánchez made his goal-scoring debut with both Barça goals.

It was new sponsor Mobicat’s debut, and despite not being able to snatch a victory, Barça made a good impression. Barça Mobicat drew 2-2 against Peinsa Cartagena, a direct rival for a cup place. Peinsa took a valuable point from the Palau Blaugrana through their counter-attacking game. Barça Mobicat are now 6th in the table with eleven points, despite Chico and PC being out.

Ahead at half-time

QM3D1566.jpgFrom the outset, the two keepers, Cristian and Juanlu, were the key players throughout the match. Dernando and Saad had the best chances during the first half, but Jordi Sanchez opened the score in the 12th minute with a great goal, his first ever official goal. Párraga had been Cartagena’s most dangerous player during the first half. Barça stood 1-0 up at the close.

Surprise from keeper-player

Soon after the re-start, David Marin’s team managed to make it all-square when a shot from Cobeta was deflected by Saad, leaving Cristian helpless to do anything. Peinsa Cartagena had a few good opportunities to go ahead with shots from Esquerdinha and Párraga.

QM3D1538.jpgWith the score at 1-1, the surprise came when Javi Matía came on as keeper-player with ten minutes still to go, which seemed to displace Barça Mobicat a little. Cartagena began to build up the pressure on Barça keeper Cristian, until Sergi Lozano put his team ahead in the 32nd minute.

Clear chances

Despite being behind, Barça responded well and two minutes later Jordi Sanchez headed home a pass from Javi Rodriguez, and he nearly got another straight after, but his shot hit the post.

With the score all-square, David Marin was banking on his keeper-player. In the final minutes, Marc Carmona followed suit and brought Javi Rodriguez out to join the five-man attack. Barça had three good chances in the last minute, but neither Fernando nor Juan Carlos López were able to get the ball in, and the game ended a 2-2 draw.
