Second place gets tricky (3-2)

www.fcbarcelona.cat

Barça Mobicat lost away to Azkar Lugo and are seeing how the second place is getting trickier. The Blaugranes were the weaker side throughout the game.

Azkar Lugo went ahead early on and dominated the game. Leading scorer Fernandinho put Azkar ahead in the 12th minute, after the Brazilian pivot had had various attempts. Just before, Fernandao had hit the crossbar.

Barça Mobicat didn’t wait to respond when a minute later Juan Carlos López made it 1-1, but Lugo didn’t let up and placed Paco Sedano’s goal under siege, with Fernandinho looking the most dangerous.

Igor puts Barça ahead

With things at one apiece, Barça gained more control of the ball. Towards the end of the first half, they had more goal chances, and they went one up through Igor taking advantage of a defensive error.

Keeper-player didn’t work

The local side started strongly, and Fernandinho made it 2-2. From then on Lugo had the upper hand like in most of the first half.

With just over two minutes to go, Adri put his team ahead. This was when Marc Carmona decided to play Chico as a keeper-player, but this time it didn’t pay off.

Things still could have been different. Saad Assís hit the post from a double penalty and Fernandinho shot from 10 meters out but Paco Sedano saved a possible fourth goal. 3-2 at the end and Marc Carmona’s side sees how that second place is even harder.
