First win of the season comes at Gavà (1-3)

Jaume Marcet / Roger Bogunyà

Barça Atlètic got their first win of the season at Gava beating their hosts 1-3 thanks to goals from Soriano (2) and Gai who both rounded off decisive performances with their strikes.

The game was still very much up for grabs when the decisive moment came on 78 minutes with the sending off of Gava defender Socias after he gave away a penalty Soriano put away to make it 1-3.

Two chances, two goals

Barac were one nil up after their first attack when Sorriano was set up by Gai, who was one of the best players on the pitch and causing all kinds of problems down the right. Unfortunately, Gava also scored with their first attack on 9 minutes with Guerrero heading home a Quino cross from the right.

More chances

Although there were no more goals in the first half, there were plenty of chances with Manteca having a goal ruled offside for the hosts and Elvis and Jonathon coming close for Barca Athletic. Finally, Muniesa showed real class with an individual effort which Sorriano couldn't quite put away.

Woodwork denies Gava

Manteca was again close in the second half as he saw a shot come back off the bar, but it was Luis Enrique's pupils who went ahead on 66 minutes when a speculative cross from Gai was helped on its way by a deflection off a defender.

Penalty, red card and 1-3

Then came the penalty after Socias handled in the box and once Soriano had made sure with the spot kick, Barca were not going to let the game go against their 10-man hosts.
