First half finishes of Barça B (2-3)

Eusebio’s team went down 2-3 to an experienced Deportivo side who put in a strong first half performance. Barca B never stopped fighting as they attempted to come back into the game, but paid a high price for the Galicians’ three first half goals.

Barça B are still without a win at the Miniestadi after going down to a Deportivo side who have managed to keep much of the team who were in Primera last season.

Strong start from visitors

Barça had the ball in the first half, but they found it hard to create opportunities, whilst in contrast, Deportivo took full advantage of their chances, opening the scoring with a headed goal from Lassad on 9 minutes after a good cross from Guardado.

Two quick goals

Barça B pushed for an equaliser, but Guardado broke into box on 29 minutes and his shot rebounded back for Lassad to score his second. Soon after, Guardado surprised Miño with an effort from the half way line to make it 0-3.

Barça B didn’t let their heads drop though and pulled a goal back on 36 minutes when Montoya centred for Rodri to put away.

With Gerard Deulofeu on from the start of the second half, Eusebio managed to achieve the shake up he was looking for and Bartra and Rodri both had early chances to peg one back. With 15 minutes left to play, Rafinha did get the second goal –after a couple of good stops from Aranzubia – and Eusebio went for broke by bringing on midfielder Carmona for Bartra, but despite a late miss from Rodri, it wasn’t to be and it was the visitors who took the points.
