Pete Mickeal signs for Regal Barça

Pete Mickeal has agreed terms with Regal FC Barcelona for the next two seasons. The club can cut him at the end of the first one.

Pete Mickeal comes to Barcelona after two very successful seasons with TAU Cerámica. The American has agreed terms with Barça for the next two seasons and the club has an option to cancel the contract after one. Mickeal’s signing reinforces the '3' position, especially bearing in mind that Lubos Barton is sidelined.

Outstanding newcomer

2005 was an especially good year for Pete Mickeal after he left Makedonikos to join Leche Río Breogán. He soon became a key member of the Galician outfit and was the outstanding newcomer in the ACB.

His first game was against Pamesa Valencia and he scored 16 points. His end-of-season average was 19 to put him second in the points scoring table in the ACB. He also achieved the highest rating (21.3) of the year and was MVP six times (games 9, 10, 14, 25, 30 and 33). In addition he was player of the month in November, December and March.
