Winterthur FCB secure win in Fuenlabrada (66-75)

Winterthur FC Barcelona have achieved their ninth consecutive victory in the Liga ACB over Fuenlabrada. Dusko Ivanovic’s men beat Luis Casimiro’s team 66-75.

The game was by no means an easy affair, especially after elimination from the Euroleague. Barça were able to impose themselves on the game despite both teams being equal in the first period (15-15). The second period, following two consecutive three pointers from Roger Grimau and great play from Jordi Trias, Barça began to establish a grip on the game and opened up their biggest lead (26-37).

Difference maintained

After the restart, Fuenlabrada came out strong, despite the score favouring the visitors. Jaka Lakovic was very active and made sure Barça maintained their advantage over the team from Madrid. The Slovenian helped close out the third period (49-56).

Navarro, Grimau y Lakovic

The start of the fourth period started well for the home team. Saul Blanco drew the teams level on 58 after three minutes. Fuenlabrada scored 7 points without reply. The teams traded three pointers until Navarro, Grimau and Lakovic took control of the game and opened up a small lead (61-66). Fuenlabrada, however, were far from finished and upped their game yet again. A three pointer from Juan Carlos Navarro (6 from 10), however, finished the game off and Barça ran out winners (66-75).
