Super Cup winners against Noia
The second title of the 2008/09 season came after 100 minutes of intense competition with Noia Freixenet. The Spanish Super Cup was partially decided in the first leg at the Palau which Barça won by 5-1.
The OK League 2007/08 champions, Barça Sorli Discau, and Cup winners for the same season, Noia
Freixenet, went head-to-head in the fifth Spanish Super Cup. Barça emerged victorious to pick up
their fourth title in the competition.
After a 5-1 win at the Palau, in a game in which Quim Paüls’s side was much superior to
Ferran López’s, the return leg was an intense affair. Noia didn’t make life easy for
Barça who were missing Borregán through injury. The game ended 3-4 for Barça who lifted their
second trophy of the season.
