Salvador Puig Asbert

Salva Puig started out in the Club Balonmano Granollers, where he spent 13 years.

He played in the infant team (92-94) and the youth team (94-96). He then broke into the first team and enjoyed seven seasons at the top level (96-03). His progress was noted by the watching scouts and in the summer of 2004 he signed for Goppingen. After learning a great deal from his experience in the Bundesliga he joined Barcelona in the summer of 2004.

He was proclaimed a champions of Spain at junior level in 1996. He has made 35 appearances for Spain's junior team and is a regular in the Catalan team.

CHARACTERISTICS

A right winger, he is very good in defence and can also move up and use his strong throw. The left-handed Puig is a great asset both in the present and the future for Catalan handball. He is a player with a great deal of potential and is guaranteed to be a star for years to come.
