World Club Championship slips away

Barça finally returned from Japan without the World Club Championship.

They put in a great team performance in the semi-final match and comfortably disposed of Mexican side Club America, with goals from Gudjohnsen, Márquez, Ronaldinho and Deco. Barça then dominated the final against Internacional de Porto Alegre and enjoyed a number of good opportunities to score.

However, Adriano seized on a counterattack in the 82nd minute to score the only goal of the match, leaving Barca no time to find an equaliser. The Barca party also attended a number of official events during the tournament, the most important one being a reception in the Japanese parliament for the president of the Catalan parliament Ernest Benach.
