The Staples Center, a luxury venue

Both the teams from Los Angeles, the Lakers and Clippers, play their home games at the Staples Center. The incredible ten-year old venue can seat no fewer than 20,000 people.

When the Staples Center was built in the centre of Los Angeles in 1999, the Lakers and Clippers both left home to use the pavilion for their home games. The Lakers ended 31 years at the Great Western Forum, and after 15 years, the Clippers played their last game at the L.A. Sports Arena.

Ice hockey and American football

This venue, with its 160 luxury boxes and 15 events suites is not only used for NBA games. The Staples Center is also home to the Sparks (WNBA, the ladies NBA), the Kings (ice hockey) and the Avengers (arena football).

Also concerts

The Staples is such a lively venue that there are almost events going on,. All the year round, concerts are a particularly common occurrence at the Californian venue, and in recent times the likes of Prince, U2, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton, Shakira, Luis Miguel, Van Halen and the Rolling Stones have played there.
