Cardoner and Rexach with the PB Foment Martinenc

During the 55th Anniversary of the PB Foment Martinenc, Jordi Cardoner and Carles Rexach, supported this historic penya based in Barcelona. Supporters paid tribute to Reixach for his years at Barça.

Vicepresident of the Social Area Jordi Cardoner, along with Board Consultant Carles Rexach, were the representatives of the Club on an event held at Foment Martinenc, one of the most historic cultural centres of Barcelona. This society’s supporters’ club celebrated its 55th anniversary and the Club’s representatives took the chance to visit the facilities of this 125-year-old building. Jordi Cardoner stated that “this supporters’ club is an example of how sports and culture can grow together”, also highlighting that “the PB Foment Martinenc had to work a lot to achieve this figure”.

Tribute to Rexach

This penya has obviously seen most history of FC Barcelona, and their members did not want to take for granted any of the periods Carles Rexach played for FC Barcelona. Therefore, they took this occasion to pay tribute to the third player with most appearances in the history of FC Barcelona.

Recalling Messi’s arrival

Being Carles Rexach and Josep Maria Minguella present in the celebration, PB Foment Martinenc wished to acknowledge their important role on signing Messi for Barça when the latter was only a kid. Rexach, who was Sporting Director of Professional Football at that time, explained he clearly saw in a matter of minutes that Messi had to sign for FC Barcelona.
