Faió is a village in Franja d’Aragó of some 400 inhabitants. Its Barcelona Supporters Club was formed on September 5, 2010 and on Saturday it will unveil its crest at the Camp Nou.

Nice coincidence

For this club, managed by women, it is a nice coincidence that they will be unveiling their crest on the same day that the club is organising an entirely female presidential box, in honour of the women that have helped create the club’s history on occasion of the Day of the Working Woman, on March 8.

Female board

This club’s board consists of six members. The four most important positions are all filled by ladies. The president is Magnolia Mestre; the vice president is Anna Rabert; the secretary is Anabel Llop; and the treasurer is Carmen Sabaté. The other board members are men, Javier Recha and Jordi Cabistany.

The president and secretary were both originally from Barcelona, and were the main instigators of this supporters club in the little village that is 20 kilometres outside of Mequinensa, and 40 from Fraga and 70 from Lleida.

Other curiosities

All four of the ladies on the board are married, but not one of their husbands is a Barça fan. The club also includes three ladies aged over 80 years, while the youngest, Laia, is just 11 months old.

Saturday’s delegation

15 ladies from the club will be coming on the trip to see their crest unveiled. They will be leaving Faió at eight in the morning and should arrive at the stadium at around 12.30 midday. They are going to take advantage of their visit to explore the Camp Nou Experience and get to know the stadium better. Their crest will be unveiled sometime around 18.30.
