The village of Calaceit, in Aragon, recently celebrated the inauguration of a local Barça Supporters’ Club

The three Cups

3804.jpgThe celebrations began with a reception at the Town Hall led by the Mayoress Rosa M. Doménech, followed by a photographic exhibition about Barça in the 70s. The celebrations then moved on to the Supporters’ Club headquarters where a sculpture of the 6 Cups, donated by Lluís Ribalta, was unveiled. The SC was officially inaugurated at 9 pm with a tasting of local wines. The dinner was attended by one hundred people in the presence of the treble-winning Cups – the best kept secret of the evening.

The role of the Supporters’ Clubs

The president of the new Supporters’ Club, Juan Antonio Insa, stressed the social importance of the new club, given that 15% of the village population are members. Julio Alberto thanked the Supporters’ Clubs for their support while Josep-Ignasi Macià emphasised the important role of Supporters’ Clubs in FC Barcelona.
