Inauguration of the Penya Barcelonista El Pla del Penedès

FC Barcelona director Patrick Auset, along with ex-player Julio Alberto and Social Commission director Enric Nadeu have inaugurated a new supporters clubs at El Pla del Penedès.


On February 26, 2008 the world of Barça supporters clubs grew just that little bit more following the official unveiling of the Penya Barcelonista El Pla del Penedès. After months of tireless work, the president of the club, Jordi Almirall, and his young board of directors, decided to organise their official inauguration on December 6.

More than sixty Barça people

One of the rooms in the Pla del Penedès sports hall was the venue chosen for the strikingly young fellowship supper. FC Barcelona director, Patrick Auset, welcomed the club to the Barça family and IMG_4279.jpginvited them to do all they can for Barça in their town. Auset was joined former player Julio Alberto Moreno and Social Commission director, Enric Nadeu.

The president of the club, Jordi Almirall, gave a welcome speech and then passed over to the vice president of the supporters club, Josep Maria Roig, who gave a few emotional words about the history of FC Barcelona. The celebrations were also attended by the local mayor, Alfred Martínez.

Activity packed day
As well as the fellowship supper, the Penya Barcelonista El Pla del Penedès also organised a series of activities to celebrate the official inauguration. This included a parade through the town centre and a game of indoor football among the members.
