Debate at Penya Barcelonista de la Garriga

On Friday, October 24 and as part of the 25th anniversary of the Penya de la Garriga, a debate was held in the town’s Auditorium.

The title was “The importance of FC Barcelona over history” and featured the presence of Misters Marc Carrasco, director of the Social Commission, Carles Rexach, ex-footballer, Enric Masip, ex-handball player and current technical director of the section and Ramon Alfonseda, president of the FCB Veterans Group, plus Ferran Polo, from the newspaper 9 Nou as moderator. A fascinating debate developed out of what was said.

To get things started, Mr. Miquel Baldich, President of the host club, welcomed everybody along and thanked the club representatives for coming.
Apart from the main subject, which lasted an hour and a half, they also spoke about the importance of teams having some home-grown players, and inevitably, and especially with former players in attendance, namely Carles Rexach and Enric Masip, some time was given to the present state of both the football and handball teams.

The debate also gave the audience plenty of opportunity to make themselves heard, some of those including Mr. Ferran Ariño, a former club director and currently a member of the Penya de la Garriga.

The event ended with everybody enjoying a buffet super.
