World Meeting this spring in Hospitalet

It has been decided that the World Meeting this season will be held on the weekend of April 5 and 6, 2008, the same weekend that Barça entertain Getafe at the Camp Nou.

After a meeting on July 17 between the members of Peña Barcelonista Collblanc-Torreón; a representative of Hospitalet City Council; Social Commission member, Xavier Ferrer; members of the supporters club department; through spokespeople from the Supporters Club Advisory Council’s Work Groups and the delegate in charge of the region where the organisers are based, Josep Guzmán, decided that the XXXI Trobada Mundial will be held on the weekend of April 5 and 6, 2008, the same weekend that Barça entertain Getafe at the Camp Nou.

At home

The date has been changed because most of the clubs involved stated that they would prefer the meeting to be held on the same weekend that Barça are playing at home. Having analysed the fixture list, along with the most suitable dates for the municipal authorities, it was decided that the Hospitalet World Meeting should take place in the spring rather than autumn.

Both the club and the Supporters Club Advisory Council have said that the change of date is unlikely to present any major difficulties to the supporters clubs that had said they would be attending the Meeting in autumn, and feel that this new date is more attractive and will mean more clubs are likely to participate.

The objective is to make this event a new demonstration of the strength and vitality of the FC Barcelona supporters movement.
