Igropulo is ideal help for Nagy

Konstantin Igropulo is to sign for Barça Borges for the next three seasons. The player is to leave Chehovski Medvedi and try his luck in the Asobal League.

Xavi Pascual now has a born right back. The Barça coach has two left-handed players for this position and one player who’s bound to be pleased by the move is Laszlo Nagy, until now the only right back in the squad.

First year in Asobal League

This will be Igropulo’s first experience of the national League. He has previously played for Greek outfit Panellinos and top Russian side Chehovski Medvedi.

Just three months ago he played at an Asobal League venue, Ademar León, in a European competition in which he scored 68 goals last season. Only 24 years old, he could become one of the all-time greats.

One position, two styles

Konstantin Igropulo comes to FC Barcelona to reinforce the right back position. His partner will be Laszlo Nagy. Although they play in the same position, the Russian and the Hungarian have very different styles according to section technical secretary Enric Masip: “Nagy is taller and shoots from the outside. Igropulo is faster with greater penetration and plays the ball more. A combination with a middle back like Dani Sarmiento gives us greater speed in attack.”

Third signing
Konstantin Igropulo is FC Barcelona Borges’s third signing of the season, having picked up a middle back, a right back and a keeper to cover the loss of Kasper Hvidt. Sarmiento was signed first to be followed this Friday by Saric. The three players reinforce key positions in Xavi Pascual’s team.
