Barça Alusport survice first test (6-0)

The futsal team has beaten Fisiomedia Manacor and will play in the Spanish Cup semi finals on Saturday. Braces from Lin and Wilde and one each from Saad and Igor secured a deserved win.

Barça Alusport didn’t play their best in a hot-headed encounter but Manacor failed to control their nerves in their first ever game of such importance, and the goals eventually started flowing.

Lin opens scoring

Barça threw themselves from the start at a Manacor team that seemed to prefer to keep the scoring low as long as they could. This worked for a while until Lin, playing in his hometown, converted a Fernandão assist. The celebrations suggested the balance had finally been tipped.

Wilde hits two

Barça Alusport dominated against a side that continued to play defensively, and it was just a question of time before Wilde produced a screamer from a narrow angle to make it 2-0. The second half saw more of the same, and it was Saad who made it three and as good as sentenced the tie. Barça Alusport also showed their qualities in defence and played some wonderful football that was culminated by Wilde exploiting a goalkeeping error to make it four.

Igor and then Lin again added two more to hit the islanders for six, who by now seemed wholly resigned to defeat.
