The club’s indoor football team came back to work today after the summer break. Marc Carmona’s men have started to get ready for the 2008/09 season which is shaping up to be an intense one.
Barça’s indoor football team began getting ready for the upcoming season in the Palau Blaugrana today. The entire first team squad plus three players from the reserves were there.
First week in Barcelona
The players will spend the first week training at club facilities. Today the players got together and met new signings Jordi Sánchez from Armiñana Valencia and Saad Assis from Móstoles.
Training this morning consisted of a warm-up followed by gym work.
Different types of exercises
The first few days will be dominated by running, the court and the gym. The players are to alternate these exercises as they gear up for the new season, according to assistant coach Santi Gea.
Reserves also restarting
Three young players from the Barça reserves were at the training session: goalkeeper Sergio Arriero
and outfield players Sergio ‘Sepe' Sierra and Alex Verdejo. Sierra and Verdejo were called up
for a few games last season and now are once again back playing with the indoor football first
team.
