Win takes Barça Atletic into play off spots (2-1)

Edgar Fornós

Barca Atlètic chalked up their sixth win on the trot with 2-1 win at the Mini Estadi on Wednesday night, which takes them up into the play off spots.

Luis Enrique and Joan Barberá's young team are really on form right now, not having lost since the seventh round of games, when they lost to Sant Andreu, and having won their last six games on the run.

Entertaining – but not goals

Thiago and Soriano on target

Alicante weren't giving up yet though and they came back at the hosts, first with a Postigo shot against the post and then with the equaliser from the same player on 73 minutes. Luis Enrique's team had the last word though, with Soriano rounding off a magnificent run from Gai Assulin to make it 2-1 and take the points.

Barca Atlètic will be aiming to continue their winning ways on Sunday when they travel to Lerida, who are down in the relegation places. The game kicks off at 17.00.
