A harsh introduction (1-0)

Edgar Fornós

Barça Atlètic were introduced to the harsh realities of life in a higher division as they were beaten by a single goal by Santa Eulàlia on Sunday.

Luis Enrique's team began life in la Segunda B against the Ibiza-based outfit and looked to be on course to take something from a game that they started so brightly in. After dominating possession in the game, the Blaugrana's B team could have gone in at the break two goals ahead had it not been for a pair of good saves from the home team keeper, Carlos Moro.

First half dominance

The clearest chance of the opening 45 minutes when a shot from Xavi Torres saw the Santa Eulàlia custodian tip away his 30-yard drive. Nolito stood out for the visitors in the first half with his work down the flanks, but he was unable to prise open the hosts defence.

Good saves

In the second period, Santa Eulàlia grew in confidence and began to test Barça's keeper, Rubén Miño, as he was forced to make two saves within the opening 15 minutes of the restart.

Winning goal

With ten minutes left the game looked to be heading for a goalless draw when Tino netted the winner with only the home team's third chance of the afternoon. Barça then went forward in numbers and were unlucky not to find an equaliser despite playing well. Thiago and Nolito both had good chances towards the final whistle, but neither could convert.
