Big win in Lleida (0-3)

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The reserve side won and impressed away to Lleida. Benja’s first two goals in a Barça shirt and a third from Maric have put Luis Enrique’s back within a point of the promotion zone.

Baça went for it from the start, and against a side they lost to at home earlier this season. Lleida looked strong, but were put under pressure from the start.

In the 43rd minute Jeffren created the first big chance with an excellent move down the wing in combination with Benja. But neither Benja himself nor Thiago after were able to get the ball into the back of the net defended by Eduardo.

Just a minute before the break, a fantastic bit of control from Benja and a powerful strike to finish saw Barça go into the lead. It was the Catalan’s first goal for the side.

Benja again

Barça started the second half in search of further goals, and despite some strong defending from Lleida it only took nine minutes for Benja to score his second. Once again he used his chest to control the ball brilliantly, and fired the ball on the half volley beyond the keeper’s reach.

Luis Enrique dealt expertly with a Lleida side that lost its pace in the second half and failed to create any major danger. Goran Maric, just ten minutes after coming on as sub, scored the third from the left of the box in the final minute to round off the second away win on the trot. It was the first time Barça B has won in Lleida since 2003.
