The B team went down 2-0 to Cordoba on Sunday after having the better of the game, but suffering two sucker punches from their hosts which inflicted their second defeat of the season.
Barça made a good start to the game, but a 35 minute goal direct from a free kick from Tena hit
them hard. To make things worse, Marc Muniesa saw his second yellow on 42 minutes, leaving the team
to play the whole of the second half with 10 men.
True to their style
With a 4-3-2 formation, the B team stuck to their guns in the second half, refusing
to abandon their passing game and trying to build intelligently from the back to break down the
tight Cordoba defence. But the hosts again showed their efficiency in attack when Charles got their
second ten minutes into the half. The youngsters kept plugging away though and it looked as if
Tello, making his B team debut, had set up Marc Bartra for a goal on 75 minutes, only for the ref
to blow up for offside.
