Luis Enrique’s side faced a Ponferradina side that is fighting for survival, but despite the visitors dominating the play from the first minute and Jonathan Soriano almost scoring when the action was barely under way, it was the home side that scored first. If they’re going down, they’re not doing so without a fight and Gaizka’s 25th minute strike following an Acoran cross was the only goal of the first half.

Insatiable effort

The second half was only two minutes old when Barça finally opened their own account with yet another goal from Jonathan Soriano, his 26th this season. But shortly after, a penalty by Abraham on Yuri made it 2-1. The Brazilian’s goal meant Barça were playing catch-up once again. Muniesa almost scored from a corner, but it was eventually Oriol who got the honours, and the game was back all square.

Looking to win

At 2-2, both sides had chances that could have sealed the three points. Nolito could have scored from a cross that Jonathan Dos Santos sent to the far post, but the Barça striker was a fraction of a second too late. And just before the final whistle a dangerous strike from Yuri was brilliantly saved by FCB keeper Miño.
